

The Thoughts of Emily Davison I step out into the fresh, free air. I take a deep breath; I have a long day ahead of me. The sky is clear; its periwinkle blue matches the bold banner proudly resting on my chest. It is a perfect day to die. I smile to myself; no one knows my plans, not even my closest friends. When they ask, I just say “You’ll see”, and they will see. As I walk down the street I see a young mother with her small daughter. The little girl is pulling at her mother’s banner, I laugh. I remember being that young. I remember the confusion, and emptiness of adolescence. Ever since that age I questioned authority. IThe Thoughts of Emily Davison
